HEL – FROM WWII HISTORY TO SEASIDE RESORT
The small town of Hel sits at the end of a thin spit of land north-west of Gdansk. The remnants of the gun emplacements point to the historical military significance of this now popular seaside resort town.
SOPOT – GDANSK SEASIDE CATHEDRAL PLAYGROUND
Sopot is where the people of Gdansk go swimming in the summer, to walk the long pier, and scour the beaches for amber. It is also the home to the magnificent Sopot Cathedral
MALBORK CASTLE – IMMENSE TEUTONIC KNIGHT’S SHOWPIECE
The UNESCO listed Malbork Castle is the largest of its type in Europe and beautifully restored after suffering horrific damage in WW II. If you are in this part of Poland then this is a ‘must – see’.
